There is much to be learned and celebrated in the irony of phrase "Good Friday."
Who among those at the cross would have thought there was anything good about seeing your son, friend and teacher crucified for sins he did not commit? Yet, like most of the troubles in our life, the result of the trials is what turns out to be "good" for us.
Who among us says "Good cancer" or "Good asthma" or " Good divorce" or "Good unemployment." I'm pretty sure I haven't. But, if we wait long enough and keep trusting in the One who died that Friday and rose that Sunday, we, too, will see that it is good.
"And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them." Romans 8:28
Happy Good Friday!
